Education

Marissa Prescott has focused her practice exclusively on domestic relations matters since 2011 when she worked as a law clerk and then became an associate for a domestic relations firm in Boston. She later worked as a Sessions Clerk at the Middlesex Probate & Family Court, clerking for the Honorable Judge Jeffrey Abber. In this role, she ran daily court sessions and was the first point of contact in the courtroom for litigants and attorneys regarding court policies and procedure. In addition to working at the Court, Marissa also practiced at a boutique domestic relations firm in downtown Boston where she handled complex divorce matters. Having worked for private law firms as well as the Probate & Family Court, Marissa brings a unique perspective to each matter she handles.

Marissa understands that issues falling under the jurisdiction of the Probate & Family Court can often be extremely sensitive and emotional for each client. Marissa handles each client personally, with a high attention to detail.  She appreciates the importance of each client having their unique story told.

Marissa is a 2012 graduate of Suffolk University Law School where she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.  She is a 2008 graduate of Bucknell University and a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.

Marissa is also a certified Category F Guardian Ad Litem as well as a certified ARC (“Attorneys representing children”) Attorney.

Outside of the office, Marissa is an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter.
